WARNING
The brake fluid CCF is specifically studied for the hydraulic brake system of Trailskate.
DO NOT EMPLOY ANY OTHER TYPE OF FLUID IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
CCF is a water-soluble solution which has three main characteristics :
  1. It is based on water,
thus when a little fluid must be added to the brake system, and that you do not have liquid CCF,
you can add to 30 ml of water to the brake system.
  1. The water will mix in the CCF and no efficiency of braking will be lost.
  1. The CCF has characteristics enabling him to disperse better than DOT traditional or fluids based on mineral oil;
The CCF resists better coagulation and freezing during the cold seasons.

THE USE OF ANY OTHER TYPE OF FLUID
IN THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM
WILL CAUSE THE INEFFECTIVENESS OF THE BRAKE.

PRECAUTIONS AT THE TIME OF HANDLING
BRAKE FLUID CCF

  1. Use glasses and oven gloves.
The contact with the eyes and the skin can cause irritations.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse abundantly with some water and contact a doctor quickly.

In case of the contact of skin, wash abundantly with water and soap.
  1. Do not inhale. It can provoke nausea.
Cover the nose and the mouth with a mask and to proceed to the operation in a quite ventilated place.
If vapor is inhaled, goes immediately in a well aired place and contacts a doctor.
  1. Do not swallow. It can provoke vomits and diarrheas.
  1. Do not cut, do not warm, do not weld, or do not pressurize the bowl of fluid CCF.
This one can burn or explode.

STORAGE OF THE FLUID CCF
Store the liquid CCF in shelters of the sunlight and away from a source of heat.

Instructions step by step

The purging consists in removing the air being in the hydraulic system.
This operation is easier to realize for two persons.

Step 1 :
Fix the handle of brake by taking care that the tank is well positioned horizontally.

Step 2 :
Put skates with flat, below the handle of brake, brake drums upwards.

Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3 - Step 4 - Step5 - Step 6 - Step 7 - Step 8 - Step 9 - Step 10 - Step 11
Step 3 :
Unscrew the two screws on the lid of the tank of brake (placed on the handle of brake) and remove it.
(there must be a chafing strip with the back of the lid of the tank).

Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3 - Step 4 - Step5 - Step 6 - Step 7 - Step 8 - Step 9 - Step 10 - Step 11
Step 4 :
Squeeze the handle of brake several times, to insure you to obtain
an adequate pressure in the connections hoses of brakes.

From here, two persons are required.

Step5 :
The first person maintains firmly the control lever of handle of completely squeezed brake.

ATTENTION! Do not loosen the control lever.

Step 6 :
To protect the mechanism from the flows of fluid during the purging,
The second person wraps a cloth around the cylinders of brakes and maintains it squeezed well.

ATTENTION! Use safety glasses.

Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3 - Step 4 - Step5 - Step 6 - Step 7 - Step 8 - Step 9 - Step 10 - Step 11
Step 7 :
Whereas the first person maintains the tight handle of brake,
the second person slightly unscrews the screw of it of black purge on the cylinder of brake.
(all while maintaining of a hand the cloth around the cylinder)
The cylinder releases then bubbles of air and the blue brake fluid.

CAUTION !
Do not let the liquid of the brakes run on the brake linings. You ensure that the cloth absorbs all the liquid.
If the brake fluid comes into contact with the brake linings, the power of braking will be some faded.
The brakes will not function correctly any more, and the trimmings will have to be replaced.

Step 8
Tighten the screw of purging as soon as the liquid finished running out.
Assure that the handle of brake remained firmly tight during all the process
(in the contrary case, of the air will have been able to infiltrate during handling).

Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3 - Step 4 - Step5 - Step 6 - Step 7 - Step 8 - Step 9 - Step 10 - Step 11
Step 10 :
Repeat steps 4 to 9 on the braking cylinder of the other wheel.

If the process of purging were correctly carried out, the handbrake lever should not touch the handle of brake when it is entirely inserted.
If the handle touches the lever, it is that there is always air in the system of brakes, and you must then start again the operation.
NOTE : There must be about 2,5 cm between the handle and the lever when this one is completely inserted.

Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3 - Step 4 - Step5 - Step 6 - Step 7 - Step 8 - Step 9 - Step 10 - Step 11
Step 11 :
Assure that the screws purge on each braking cylinder are quite tight.
After having supplemented the fluid in the tank, screw up the lid on the tank.

Once that all these stages were correctly accomplished, should have a completely functional system of brakes to you.

Before each use, inspect the braking cylinders, the handle of brake, and the sheaths of brake to detect the possible presence of liquid.
If you see some liquid running away from these zones, tighten the appropriate connectings.
If flights of liquid are detected in spite of the tightening connections, do not employ Trailskate.
Call the factory or the service approved nearest for repair to the system brakes.
